Highlights of April-May, 2010 in California

April 10 found us in Vallejo for a "Night on the Town" with old friends from University Christian Church in Berkeley to celebrate Diana's birthday.  It was such great fun to see everyone.
A quick trip to Santa Cruz for doctors and such and then to Lakeport before heading to Crescent City for the month of May.  We are still here and volunteering as docents at the Battery Point Lighthouse.  We hope the pictures can convey the wild beauty of this northern California coast.

On our days off we have taken several side trips that include:

1)  The Avenue of the Giants (a 32 mile drive through the magnificent redwoods)

2)  Saw huge herd of wild elk that are so tame we could get close enough to take pictures.

3)  Drove through the small Victorian town of Ferndale tucked away off the Highway 101 started in the mid 1850's.

4)  A jet-boat, 104 mile trip, on the Rogue River Mail Boat.  What scenery and lots of wildlife, fabulous.

We have two grandchildren graduating high school the second weekend of June.  Bobby Green from Albany High School and Rachel Green from Nevada Union in Grass Valley, California.  From there we go to an RV park in Kernville on the Kern River out of Bakersfield for the rest of the summer.  We will send a blog from there.

Life is Good!!
