Green's Go Adventuring

 As promised, here is our blogspot from the week at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.  It's one of those events that must be seen to be believed.  We went to the event with our Escapee RV Club making all the arrangements.  We got a front row parking space near an empty field.  One morning about 14 balloons launched right there so they were up close and personal as the saying goes.

Two days were devoted to the "special shapes" at the official launch field.  The regular ones launched elsewhere.  One of those evenings was the "glow" of special shapes--see pictures.  They are inflated on the field, tied down and then the burners light up the insides.  Makes quite a show.

The night scheduled for the regular balloons's "glow" didn't happen because about the time half of them were inflated the wind came up so hard the event was canceled.  However, they went ahead with the fireworks display which was absolutely the best we have ever seen anywhere.

Enjoy Bob's pictures, he has selected around a dozen out of the 450 he took.  We are on our way to Springfield, Missouri where we will manage a Holiday Gift Center for See's Candies in a local mall during November and December.  Will try to send a blog from there but not the candy.
