News From the Hiway Hilton

Summer, 2009

It's been way too long since we sent you a note,

Lots has happened, here's a shortened review.

In March we worked at the ball park in Tempe, AZ

In concessions for Spring Training, it was fun too.

In April we went on the road in our little green car

Up to Northern California until nearly mid-May.

Saw the doctors and friends and family too,

Then on to Oregon for a GREEN, lovely stay.

We went to Olympia (WA) to meet friends for lunch,

Then on up the Columbia Gorge Hiway.

Multnomah Falls is as beautiful as ever,

Such a lovely Oregon Scenic Byway.

On into Idaho, to Boise we went

Stayed with friends and had a good time.

A party was given in our honor while there,

We saw people from "back in our prime."

By this time it was June, back to California for birthdays,

One for son Forrest, one for son Jade.

Then down to Atascadero for a high school graduation,

By this time the circle was made.

We decided to go home by the way of Utah

Where we toured two great National Parks.

Zion was first, a majestic canyon and rain;

Bryce, with vistas of formations of rocks.

Back in Arizona by June the fifteenth,

We were glad to be home, all but the HOT.

We are now ready to leave once again

For two months where it's winter and COLD.

In Bogota, Colombia where our son Kelly lives

With his family and where they have begged us to come.

We look forward to seeing them and having a grand time,

We will write again when we come home.

Life is good!!
