Hiway Hilton Blogspot #3
May and June, 2006
We made it to the bed & breakfast, we were there just a month,
It didn't work out for us to stay.
We looked further north, found a spot up in Maine
So for June, here's where we work and then play.
It's a beautiful park with a name hard to pronounce,
Wassamki Springs, Scarborough, Maine.
We like the people we work with and the ones we work for,
What we weren't prepared for in Maine was the rain!!
In between storms and on our days off,
We travel to see local sights.
Been to Portland, a tour on the bay,
Saw lighthouses with out any lights.
Been to L.L.Bean, bought Bob a good grill,
Got some Christmas shopping done early, yahoo!
Took a trip to White Mountains, a lovely two-day drive
Expected to see, but not meant to be, some moose: made us blue.
This week we went south, down to see Boston,
Stayed in Lexington and went on a bus tour.
Followed much of the freedom trail and saw lots of history,
Lunched in Quincy Market, baked beans, the specialty de jour.
We've had lots of fish, lobster and clam chowder,
It's what they do here and it's all just the best.
Another trip planned to the Moosehead State Park,
We want to see moose so we can put that to rest.
A grand trip is planned during the month of July,
We'll take a week off from work so we can go
To Nova Scotia (New Scotland) and its beautiful shores,
We'll see Highland Games in Antigonish, quite a show.
So as you can see, we're still having fun,
Then this fall we will drive back out West.
Diana's 50th reuninon of high school graduation,
Remembering all those who come will be the great test.
Send us a note, let us know how you are,
We like to hear from friends we have known.
We'll answer you back, it's the personal touch,
Our circle has certainly grown.
Life is Good
Bob and Diana
