Blogspot #4, 2005
We started to work June the first
In a very large camping ground, full time.
It's hard after NOT working that much for a while,
It feels like a long, long "uphill climb."
On our first three-day pass, we went to D.C.
To where our son, Forrest, is staying.
We saw many sights, it was all a delight,
"Staying out of the traffic", we were praying.
At Arlington we watched the guard change
And saw the light at the eternal flame.
Saw monuments to all the great presidents,
Right where politics is the name of the game.
We saw the parts of the White House that they let you
Saw Smithsonions, one, two, and three,
Only highlights of course, because there's too much
To see everything in just one short spree.
The Viet Nam Wall and the new WWII
Were both sobering to just say the least.
Bob was impressed at the Marine Corps' depiction
of raising the flag, a symbol for peace.
We'll have to go back, there's much more to see,
Meanwhile, it's work, work to increase the pay.
For the next little while, we'll work with a smile,
so we can go south for the winter to play.
LIFE IS GOOD
