OPPS This picture should have followed the Habitate Picture. This is the couple who will recieve the house.
Two weeks have been here and gone
Time to write you a message again.
It seems longer to us when we stop and look back
Because of what we have done, where we've been.
We made San Antonio and stayed several days,
The famed River Walk was VERY OK.
We dined out of doors and took the boat tour
And went to the Alamo; all in one day.
We saw relatives we had not seen for some years,
Bob's brother, Don, drove up to pay us a call.
Also cousin Lloyd and his family too,
Reminicing with these folks was a ball.
Then driving through Houston was ADVENTURE itself,
We're not sure how we got out alive.
Finally, on the right road and in the right lane,
On to Livingston to arrive there by five.
We've been here a week and will stay yet another.
On a mechanic (for the water heater) we did call.
We have become Texans and registered to vote,
Trying to learn how to say "hey-y'all."
As you can see by the license, the hat,
And the boots, the effort has become very real.
It's to lower expenses and try something new,
The Escapee Club life has very tempting appeal.
There's opportunity to volunteer for service,
So we spent a day painting a house.
Habitat for Humanity makes a home possible
For a woman, her kids and her spouse.
This week we are into called October Fest
Is annual "homecoming" and lots of good fun.
There are classes and prizes and crafts and great food,
Then we're on up to Arkansas when its done.
LIFE IS STILL GOOD.
