Blogspot #4
It's been half a month since we sent you a note
In Yakima Nation we camped this past week.
First in Pendleton, then in White Swan and Toppenish too
Learning a culture "far from ours," so to speak.
Being guests of the Shakers highlighted our stay
They were loving, and friendly, and giving.
Would we be the same were circumstances reversed
Was my question, how are we at forgiving?
We saw looms a-whirring in the big woolen mills
In Pendleton, and then on to a pow-wow.
At the grand opening ceremonies a great many drums
And eight hundred colorful dancers, YEOW.
On to White Swan to the "Log Church & Mission"
The Disciples have supported ere-long.
At nearby Fort Simcoe some history to see
Of soldiers and warriors in an era by-gone.
Toppenish, a town with its history on walls
Of its buildings, in murals breathtaking.
There must have been forty, from the street to the roofs
And not any graffiti in the making.
This week we're in Moscow to attend "Life on Wheels"
We learned (not everything) last year.
We expect to learn more of what is in store
LIFE IS GOOD we continue to cheer.
All for this time, Love Bob and Diana
